PMO GLOBAL ALLIANCE was founded in 2014 and it is the first global community exclusively focused on Project Management Offices. It was created by Brazilian PMO Leaders who wish to exchange experience and knowledge to achieve better results in their PMOs.
Many of our members engage and contribute with their time, experience and knowledge to develop our community and its members. Our members are PMO leaders, PMO members, Executives, Consultants, Teachers, Students, Project Managers, among others who share experiences and knowledge, contributing to the development of the global PMO community.

The PMO VALUE RING methodology was developed with the participation of successful PMO leaders with a high level of maturity, with the objective of developing a solution to support the creation, revision, and operation of PMOs, focusing on the generation of effective value for organizations.
It is based on extensive benchmarking with the experience of professionals from different countries, providing recommendations and guiding the PMO configuration from successful experiences.

8 steps to make a PMO generate perceived value
STEP 1: DEFINE PMO FUNCTIONS
In this step, the PMO VALUE RING will collect the most important benefits that each stakeholder of your PMO expects to receive. Based on this information and our benchmarking database, our tool will provide a list of priority functions to increase the likelihood of meeting these expectations
STEP 2: BALANCE THE MIX OF PMO FUNCTIONS
In this step, the PMO VALUE RING will collect the expectations of each stakeholder and will use our benchmarking database to indicate how the PMO will be able to generate perceived value for its stakeholders over time
STEP 3: ESTABLISH PMO PROCESSES
In this step, the PMO VALUE RING will provide detailed process recommendations for each of the selected PMO functions, based on our benchmarking database
STEP 4: DEFINE PMO KPIs
In this step, based on our benchmarking database, the PMO VALUE RING will provide a set of KPIs for each PMO function, including recommendations on the relevance of each indicator and the details on how they should be established, measured and evaluated.
STEP 5: DEFINE PMO HEADCOUNT AND COMPETENCIES
In this step, the PMO VALUE RING will provide recommendations for defining the PMO team, identifying the competencies required and their relevance. It will also provide a 360° assessment tool that will identify the level of proficiency of each PMO team member in the competencies required, identify gaps, assist in the definition of development plans, and suggest the best allocation of resources according to PMO function.
STEP 6: IDENTIFY THE PMO’S MATURITY AND PLAN ITS EVOLUTION
In this step, the PMO VALUE RING will assist in assessing the current and desired levels of PMO maturity, detailing each function at levels that reflect the evolution of the PMO’s ability to generate value for the organization. Using our benchmarking database, the system will also support the creation of action plans for the evolution of the PMO.
STEP 7: CALCULATE PMO ROI
In this step, the PMO VALUE RING will assist in measuring the PMO’s financial return, taking into account the specific organizational problems that generate potential losses, the PMO function mix, and our benchmarking database.
